This binder will serve as a “living” resource manual for you to reference and use in your current or future classroom. The materials you incorporate in this online binder can be updated with additional materials and information as time passes so as to keep it current and relevant. Refer to the Online Binder Tutorial activity in the Wk 2 – Activities document to help you get started. You will first need to create a free account with LiveBinders before starting your binder. Note: You will add to your binder each week, and submit the link to your binder as a requirement of each assignment. This week, create an “EL Reading Resources” tab in your online binder. Resources may include web links, media tools, articles, video links, graphics, etc. Provide brief descriptions of each of your resources and how they can be used to support English learners. Consider incorporating resources geared towards your secondary content area. Include the following in your “EL Reading Resources” page: Reading comprehension skills for secondary level EL students Reading instructional strategies for secondary level EL students Reading technology tools and resources appropriate for secondary EL students at different proficiency levels Grouping techniques and cooperative learning strategies conducive to secondary grade levels Do not use sources such as Wikipedia, Study.com, Yahoo answers, Answers.com, Wise Geek, etc. Use authoritative sources, including those provided in SEI 508.
