Course overview This lesson explores the contacts and exchanges between China and the West in the cultural field from the Tang Dynasty (7th century) to the late Qing Dynasty (19th century). Content involves religion, Typical cases in philosophy, ethics, art, science and technology, etc., enable students to deeply ponder the heterogeneity reflected in the cultural exchange between China and the West. Compatibility and the transformation and continuation of Chinese cultural identity in different historical contexts. In the meantime, the relevant methodology is also introduced. Emphasis on a comprehensive and diverse research perspective, surpassing the limitations of the previous European central view and the Chinese central view.
