 Create a separate document for each book that includes these sections: 1. Basic Knowledge Identify three ways in which this book distinctly advanced your theoretical knowledge of the Rhetoric & Philosophy of Communication. 2. Metaphor and Argument • State the central question(s) of scholarly inquiry guiding the book. • Locate the dominant metaphor or metaphorical pattern and relate it to the key scholarly argument you encountered in the book. • Respond to the book’s position as exemplified by the metaphor-argument connection making explicit your own rhetorical/philosophical standpoint (assumptions, biases, perspectives, etc.). 3. Relevance Make a case for the relevance of this book to the Communication classroom and the marketplace. In what ways can you appropriate and apply what you have learned? Guidelines • Please observe a 200-250 word limit for each of the three sections (600-750 word total for each book). • Type your answers for each book as a WORD document and save each document individually with your last name and last name of book author.
